Wavepad is another handy little freeware editor.

For some reason the developers have made the Mac version a lot inferior to the Windows one.

The interface is not as well presented and there is no way of exporting another imported file format as an MP3 - or anything else apart from WAV.

I have pointed out to the developers that I would pay for this application if it was at least equal to the PC version.

They didn’t bite so I guess they don’t need the money!

Here I have loaded my AIFF file and selected my cut.

Note how you can move the playback controls near to where you are working to compensate for the lack of keyboard shortcuts.

Now you can see the main problem with this application.

Although I loaded an AIFF file, my only option to “Save” is using the WAV format.
