This is the default theme with a black background. The slides are changed by mousing over to show the forward/reverse arrows or by clicking the control dots at the bottom.

Nivo is a much admired and sought after slideshow that uses JQuery.

Getting this onto a web page is a mind bending and tortuous proceeder as you can see if you look at the develop’s instructions.

The method I used here is kind of a "Nivo for Dummies" in that it uses an iframe that references an HTML file.
