“A social network service focuses on building online communities of people who share interests and/or activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others. Social network services are web based and provide a variety of ways for users to interact, such as e-mail and instant messaging services.”
Websites like MySpace and Facebook have changed the way a lot of people communicate with each other.
If you have the time, get into social networking, make lots of friends, share your music, post on other peoples’ music pages, and even advertise your products.

“A blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.”
Blogging can get you a lot of attention if you put a lot of time and effort into it and you have something interesting to say.
Start out by looking at other music blogs and make comments that will lead people to yours - in a subtle way!
You can quickly and easily build a blog in iWeb but I would not advise you to use it. It soon gets huge and out of control and can cause a lot of problems which you really don’t need.
A better way is to use something like Google’s Blogger or Wordpress and publish it as a separate site.
Link it to your main website using an external hyperlink set to open in a new window. If you have built your own navigation menu, you can include your Blog link in this so that it appears to be part of your website.
