Flash Player

The player background is a rounded rectangle with image fill and a drop shadow. To keep the file size down, I created this shape, took a screenshot of it, cropped it and reloaded it onto the page as a JPEG image.

Each song file is created by pasting the code into an HTML snippet box and then dragging it onto the background.

The text is done in individual boxes. The photo below should help you get the idea.

The first song can be set to autoplay if you wish.

Chasing Dreams

Midnight Train

Devil On My Tail

Flash Jukebox

NOTE:

If you have entered the Song Title and Performer’s name in the MP3 meta data, you may have to increase the the length of the player so that all of it displays.

Simple Flash Player V [2]

Above is an example of the latest version [2] of the player with a little customization.

Below is an example of the original version [1] set up to look like a Jukebox style player.

Unless you own the copyrights on a musical composition, you will have obtain and pay for two separate licenses to play it on your website.

These are explained here -  http://www.iwebformusicians.com/DistributeandPromote/CopyrightPublishing.html

The institutions who protect and manage these copyrights have big bucks to sue offenders.

The original version of the tutorial had an error in the code for this player. I eventually tracked it down to a couple of spaces being added to it when the PDF was exported from Keynote. This has been rectified and I apologize for any inconvenience.

Although this was caused by an apparent bug in Keynote ’09, I take full responsibility for this screw up as I should have spent more time testing it out.

Please email me at iwebformusicians@gmail.com if you find any errors or find my explanations incomprehensible.

Find out how to build this player in the iWeb for Musicians Tutorial EBook.

Here’s how the short version looks .......
