Meta Data
Tags are a sort of keywords that hide in your script but don’t show on your web page.
They allow search engines to identify and classify information on your website.
Meta Tags used to be important but are now pretty useless as I don’t think Google needs them anymore to crawl your site.
Title tags are important in that they allow the spiders to pick out your page title and display it in the Google search result.
As I explained earlier, the spiders cannot look at your photos so they depend on you to supply Alternative Image Text so that they can “read” a description of your image.
If you don’t add a text caption below your images the its important to add this data to the page HTML. Note that the spiders can't read the captions inside iWeb Photo and Album templates which is one of many good reasons for not using them!

The most useful of these is the ability to add Google Analytics Code for those of you who need it.
The Custom Meta Tag feature is not required in most cases but you can read about its function in the iWeb SEO Tool help file.
