Marketing Your Products and Services

Traditionally, business and service providers went out to attract customers using newspaper, junk mail, radio and TV advertising. This type of outbound marketing is expensive, wasteful of material and resources and somewhat haphazard.
As the internet developed, marketing strategy reversed direction and became inbound. This type of marketing relies on attracting customers through providing interesting content and making them aware of it through SEO (search engine optimization), blog posts, links on other websites and pay per click advertising.
This “new” type of advertising can be a lot more cost effective and targeted than traditional methods.
A typical scenario goes like this....
The website is created with information that is relevant, interesting and unique to the product or service
The URL and a sitemap are submitted to the Search Engine
The search engine spiders crawl the site and index the content
The potential customer enters keywords into the search engine
Finds the site and decides to visit
The website provides the information that the customer requires and provides an incentive
The customer is persuaded to be added to a mailing list via a contact form.
The contact form results provide the information for a database
The customers on the mailing list are sent regular marketing emails informing them of new products/services special offers, seasonal discounts etc
Many of these previous customers will return as they have been targeted as being interested in that type of product or service.
