Instructions

For this project you will need an HTML editor app to make a few changes. Text Edit.app will do and you'll find this in your Applications folder.

Download the files, open the "simple contact form" folder and then the "formmail" folder.

Open the "formmail.php" file in your text editor, enter the email address where you want to receive the contact form results in the line indicated...

$EmailTo = "john-smythe@gmail.com";

... and change the subject line in the email in this line if you want...

$Subject = "Contact Form Results";

and then save the result - Command S.

Open the "formthanks.php", personalize the message, enter the URL of the page you want your visitors to return too after submitting the form and save.

<h1>Thank you for your email.</h1>

<br />

<p>We will get back to you as soon as possible!</p>

<br />

<p><a href="http://www.domain-name.com/page-name.html">Return to my website</a></p>

Upload the "formmail" folder to the root folder on your server and note the URL to the formmail.php script ...

http://www.domain-name.com/formmail/formmail.php

Open the form.html file, enter the above URL in the code where indicated...

<form_method="post" action="http://www.domain-name.com/formmail/formmail.php">">

and save.

Now copy the whole of the code in the HTML file and paste it into an HTML Snippet on your "Contact" page.

Publish to a local folder, open the folder and double click the Contact.html file to launch it in the browser.

Test the form.

If it doesn't work, do NOT contact me!

NOTE: Don't even bother to submit the first two examples. The third example works in so much as you will get the acknowledgment but I will not receive it!
